Reclaiming Their Dreams: How a Printing Business is Funding Education in San Quintin

The Project

Imagine being a student, yearning for education, but financial constraints force you to prioritize daily survival over school fees. This is the harsh reality for many young individuals in San Quintin. But now, they have a chance to rewrite their stories.

Meet Jelly Gutierrez, an 18-year-old who had to stop her studies after her father’s passing. With her mother working as a house help and her siblings having their own families to support, Jelly’s college dreams seemed out of reach.

But amidst the challenges, a remarkable initiative is making a difference – the Souvenir and Tarpaulin Printing Shop project. This innovative venture, supported by Pure Bayanihan Foundation and the local government, is empowering out-of-school youth and reshaping their futures, one print at a time.

The project’s impact goes beyond just providing jobs. It’s a lifeline to education. 40% of the shop’s revenue is allocated to an educational fund, ensuring that these youth can pursue their studies without the burden of financial worries. It’s a testament to the power of community when it comes together to uplift its own.

Witness the determination in the eyes of Shander Casimina, the president of the San Quintin Hope for Education Youth Association. As he leads his peers in this venture, he’s not just learning business skills – he’s cultivating leadership, patience, and the art of empowering others.

As the printing shop buzzes with activity, it’s not just tarpaulins and souvenirs being created – it’s a new narrative for the youth of San Quintin. Each print represents a step towards a brighter future, a future where no young dream is left behind.
